Curio is an independent British brand centered on traditional and contemporary crafts of excellence in the creation of limited edition prints, unique stationery, and original gifts.

Formed by a family that includes artists, a master printer, a textile conservation expert and a chemist, we understand and cherish the historic artisan skills handed down to us. The artistry and alchemy required in the techniques of intaglio, letterpress and silkscreen print are sources of endless fascination for us. We relish combining our knowledge with new skills of excellence: for example digital drawing and sophisticated banknote illustration to create designs and illustrations of the highest quality forming Curio’s unique visual style.

Based in an area of outstanding natural beauty in North Yorkshire, our studio is home to an 1857 Albion printing press; an 1870 star wheel press; a vast archive of historical artists’ materials and tools, and a fascinating cabinet of artists’ curiosities, woodblocks and plates. Bringing to light images which have been hidden in drawers for centuries is our particular pleasure.
